Mia Gaga

So I think I am teaching Mia the wrong way to do Halloween. I was just so excited that she was old enough to really enjoy the best holiday of the year. She actually knew some of the characters and had opionions about what she wanted to be. So as a result of my excitement and her stubbornness to be what she wanted mia was labeled as Mia Gaga due to her many differnt costumes.

It all started with me looking on the computer every chance I got to get ideas for Mia's costume, and one day she showed an interest so we looked together. I scrolled down showing her the pretty butterflies and various princesses when an ad on the side of the page caught her attention. It was a bloody skeleton. She pointed at it and said very loudly "mommy I want to be that." I figured she would forget or change her mind but no she didn't. I even took her to the costume store and let her try on the skeleton BOY costume and lots of pretty girl costumes and she absolutely loved loved loved the skeleton one so I had to get it for her. We did make a deal though that she could wear the skeleton cotume on Halloween but not to her school party. So she was a butterfly princress fairy on cosume day at school. But te next day was the parade at her school and I couldn't let her wear the same costume two days in a row so made her a mermaid costume which probably took fifteen hours to make and way too much b/c I can't read patterns and kept havig to go back and get the correct materials. All of Mia's costumes were adorable and she had a great time.

My mom made me feel bad b/v I didn't have Ava her own costume so I ordered her a flower costume that was on clearance the week of. We had a good time.

Ava is 7 months and is crawling, doing her first sign, and experienced her first snot all in onw month

So between six months and seven months has been very eventful for this little one. Ava is crawling, holding her bottle, and asking for more in sign lanquage. She is still very interested in Mia and daddys face. She loves to feel his wiskers and give him wet kisses. She is all over the place and starting to pull up. Michael lowered her crib yesterday. Her and Mia had there first little fight over a toy. Ava wanted to play with Mia's baby doll and kept following her around to get it until she broke downa and Mia had to go get her another doll to play with so she would stop screaming. It was so funny to watch. I'm sure it won't be funny to watch later but today it was funny. Happy 7 Months Ava!

Mia's big changes and activities

So Mia is doing great with the new changes in her life. She loves her little sister and loves helping out. She doesn't love sharing her Aunt Kori with Ava but other that that she is willing to share.

Mia love her new school St. Lukes and I love her new teacher Ms. Thomas. She is soooo sweet and loving. She even makes michael and I feel loved when we drop Mia off. After the first day of school Mia did break my heart a little bit when she asked me if Ms. Thomas could be her other mommy. It made me a little sad but she didn't want to get rid of me so that made it better. The one thing I am not crazy about is all the stuff I have to do. I have a folder with stuff for me to do. Mia's school calendar is very intense and she only goes three days a week from 8 to 12. Pre-k 4 is going to be out of control.

Mia is taking ballet on Mondays, gymnastics on Tuesdays, and soccer on Sundays and her daddy is the coach. Michael is definately doing a better job than Mia is. I don't think its her thing but she does like to dress the part.

My baby girl is 6 months old and absolutely precious.

I can't believe that Ava is 6 months old. It has gone by sooooo fast. I need to finish her nursery before she is too big for it. She loves to play on the floor and put everythng in her mouth. She is not even trying to crawl. Its so funny to compare Mia and Ava becasue Mia was so determined and was crawling at six months. Ava is so layed back and just chills. She could watch her sister all day. I wish she loved me like she loves Mia. It's really awesome to see her face light up when she hears or sees her sister. If she is upset at physical therapy or the grocery, I just ask Mia to talk to her and she is happy.

So my big girl is thinning out which is a good thing. Chunky is only cute for so long :) She weighed 16 pound 12 onces and is 27 inches tall. She looked great. Because she didn't move her left arm at all for the first two months of her life, she is considerably weaker on that side and is going to take longer to crawl. We are just thrilled she is moving her arm so well and getting stronger. We go to physical therapy once a week and she hates it, but its getting better. The girls are great, but she just does not like them to mess with her. My plan was to put her in a MDO once a week about this time, but I think I will wait a few months. I thought it would be easier to put her in at six months you know second child and all but mommy is not quite ready. I'll keep her away from the snotty babies for now:)

Ava schedule at this point:
- she eats 7 to 8 ozs 4 x day
- cereal and fruit in the morning around 7:15
-fruit and vegtable at night @ 6:00pm
-takes 2 naps a day and 12 hours at night
- she loves bath time, her toys, and her big sister

Summer flew by

Wow! I can't believe it is September already. This past summer really did fly by once we went moved to Mobile. Michael was off the first two weeks of July and then started work. So he worked alot at the end of July and beginning of August, but over the past 17 days he has worked 3 days so that his been really nice. We took a five day trip to the beach for my friend Katherine's wedding and now we are in Atlanta for the Alabama Virginia Tech game. Michael got us a hotel room almost a year ago for this weekend. We just assumed we could find childcare and that he would be off. Luckily it all worked out and we are here. Its so nice to be able to sleep in and lay in bed as long as we want. That is my favorite part about going on trips with just the two of us. Thanks Aunt Kori and Kakki for watching our girls. Hopefully everyone is having a blast.

Ava is 4 months old!!

I can't believe it but my little Ava is already four months old. She weighed in at 14lbs 2oz and 24.5 inches long. She loves to sing and is very loud. She just starting turning over on her tummy to sleep so now instead of her hair sticking up in the back (Jon and Kate plus 8), it sticks up in the front on one side. I don't know which one is funnier. Her hair and blue eyes are still a traffic stopper everywhere we go. I wonder how long that will last (the blue eyes and the response.)
