New Orleans without the kids
Michael and I went on our first Adult trip since Ava was born to New Orleans for two nights. It was hard to leave Ava this young but worth it. It's alwasy nice and important to go places with just my husband. We try hard to make sure we are spending time with just each other, and family makes that a whole lot easier. Thank you so much! Mia and Ava stayed with their Kakki and Peepop played with Mia some and I had someone help my mom out when she had them both awake.

Ava's big mother's day present to her mommy
I forgot to mention Ava's big present to her mommy. That would be 9 to 11 hours of sleep at night. I have not wanted to say that she is sleeping through the night until she proved herself but she is has done it every night this week so YAY I have another great sleeper. Now that is the best present ever. I put the girls down at 7:30pm (Ava) and 8pm (Mia) and have the next few hours to spend with my hubby which is awesome.
Happy Mother's Day
I really like Mother's Day. My husband treats me like a princess (more than usual), my sister comes over to help me with whatever I need, and my girls manage to come up with the best gifts, and we always eat good food.
This year Michael got of work aound 8am and came home with tulips for me. I then put him down for a little nap before we went to brunch at the Art Museam, which I am going to miss sooooo much. Its one of the first places Michael took me. Back then, we were just be rolling out of bed ready to eat at 11am. We would eat so much and drink Mimosas. Now it's a bit different. We are up at 7am and at brunch with our two girls and sometimes Aunt Kori and we are done eating an out of there before they serve the mimosa's at noon.
After brunch we came home and Michael gave me the presents from the girls. Mia was really paying attention and found this shirt that Brooke Burke wore on Dancing With the Stars. Hers said "Mommy of 4" and of course mine says "Mommy of 2". Maybe one day I will need the mommy of 4 tee :) Its really cute and very impressive that Mia remembered how much I love Brooke Burke and her mommy wear :) Ava was pretty creative herself. She got me a diaper clutch for when we are on the run, which seems like all the time. I think someone is tying to make me cool or something. I love my gifts and the man that helped pick them out.

Miss Patty Cake

Well, I had big plans to catch some great sales this Saturday and bring both the girls shopping when I got a phone call from a friend inviting us to go see Miss Patty Cake. Um YES! Mia LOVES Miss Patty Cake!! So we all got ready really fast and went to see her. It was alot of fun and Mia had a great time. Actually, Ava did too. She just sat in the Baby Bjorn and watched the show while Mia was front and center singing and dancing with Miss Patty Cake and Stan the Handyman. We then waited in a long line to take pics and by then it was lunch time. We three girls went to Homewood to check out the sidewalk sales and grabbed lunch. It was fun but would have been more fun if daddy could have come with us, but he is working his last weekend ever as a resident WAHOO!Friday, May 8, 2009
Ava is two months
So my little baby is two months old and is accomplishing so many things. She weighed in at 11 pounds 7 ounces and 22.5 inches long. Sh egot her first set of "big" shots at the doctor and did relatively well with them. She was fussy that night but by the next morning was fine. At two months she is:
lifting her head up while onher tummy
holding her head up on her own
sleeping 8 to nine hours a night with four naps during the day ( I am hopefully by three months it will be 12 hours which would be great since we will be moving then)
eating six times a day
tracking objects 180 degrees
putting weight on her legs
cooing, kicking and smilng like crazy
she has laughed one time in hersleep that I have heard
can sport a great looking set of pig tails

Mia is 3 and I can't believe it
So my little Mia turned three on April 19th. Her birthday party was May 2 so on her actual birthday we just had a few friends over, cooked, and ate cake and ice cream. I asked her what she want to eat and she said chik-fil-a and mac and cheese which would of happened but it was Sunday and Chik-fil-a is not open on Sundays so we did her next request which was Mexican.
Mia's birthday party was at the zoo on May 2. We decided on the place because our house is on the market and we didn't want the party to interfere with the rush of people coming to look at it, and we picked May 2 to leave enough time for baby Savage to get here. Well, nobody wants to look at our house and baby Savage did not come until they made her almost two weeks after her due date. She was very sad they she could not come to the zoo that she made her mom get on bed rest so she couldn't come either. The party was great and baby Julia finally entered the world this morning at 9:03 weighing in at 9lbs 5oz. I will post pics from the party and of Julia as soon as I know how :)
